Pre-K Counts: Quality Education For Pennsylvania Families
Pre-K Counts is a Pennsylvania state-funded preschool program committed to delivering high-quality education for families within 300% of the federal poverty guidelines. Open to children aged 3 and up by the start of the school year, this program focuses on fostering growth, learning, and readiness for kindergarten. With specialized support for children with disabilities and a dedicated partnership with the Intermediate Unit (IU), Pre-K Counts ensures that each child receives the individualized attention and resources to thrive.

Through the before and after school program, your child can expand their learning while being social with their peers. You enjoy peace of mind as they receive mindful, fun-filled care. The center covers morning care until 9am and in the afternoons from the end of school until 6 pm.

FAQs
How Do You Keep The Building Secure?
We collaborated with a national security company specializing in childcare and will be more than happy to discuss our building security when you tour. We do not want to advertise this information to remain as safe and secure as possible. Be sure to talk with the director when you come!
Do You Provide Meals?
Yes! We provide two snacks and a nutritious lunch. Children are given water with snacks and milk with lunch. We also have a vegetarian option daily. All are included in tuition! What Happens If My Child Needs Medication?
We have a medicine log where you would fill out all of the necessary information we need to administer the medication for your child. Medications must be in their original packaging and must be prescribed to the child.
What Do You Do About Food Allergies?
We keep close track of the children’s allergies and will make any accommodations necessary. We welcome any replacement items that you would like your child to have. However, we will make all our accommodations so you do not have to provide anything.
What Happens If My Child Becomes Ill At School?
Illnesses are dealt with on a case-by-case basis. If your child has a very high fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or exhibits symptoms of a contagious illness, you will be notified and asked to pick the child up. In cases requiring medication, we ask that the child only returns to our care after 24 hrs on medication. We will contact the parents throughout the day to update them on their child’s symptoms.

From day one we have felt like we are a part of the family. The entire staff are so warm and welcoming and even the staff that are not her direct teachers know her name and show her so much love and care. Her teacher is so responsive and cares very deeply about the children and that is extremely evident. The day is so well balanced with activities and in the past 6 months our young toddler has developed and changed so much. The structure and support she receives is evident in her development. The classrooms are warm and inviting and we love that there are events outside of the school day as well. We have been so blessed to have found another magic memories site that we absolutely love. We came from Collegeville and now are in the Jeffersonville location. All the wonderful teachers and admin have been just amazing with my twins. They are all so welcoming in the morning even when my oldest comes with me to drop off the twins. I feel comfortable leaving my children in their hands. They have great communication and do not allow anything to wait. The twins vocab has expanded greatly and they are even coming home using sign language for certain words. I love how they are soaking everything up.

I can’t say enough great things about Magic Memories! My son’s teacher is absolutely phenomenal who goes above and beyond every expectation. My son constantly shares how much he loves his school and teacher, and he’s always excited to show me everything he’s working on. The Director and Assistant Director truly make Magic Memories feel like a close-knit family. They keep us connected with reminders about spirit days, extracurricular activities, and even organize Parents’ Night Out events! It’s hard to be a mom, it’s harder to be an ASD mom. It’s even harder to find circles of community as LGBTQ parents with a biracial son. Diversity, inclusion, and patience with our big Momma hearts has made our experience incredible. Seriously our Speech Therapist and Occupational Therapist have asked what changes we have made – only one is MM. Our family has asked what changes we have made – only one is MM. We went from 2-3 accidents a day, to maybe 2 a week. His language has exploded. His parallel play has reduced and his interactive play increased. He talks about friends. He has hit goals on his IEP. He engages in activities, circle time, and dancing. He stood on stage for the Christmas show. His teacher thinks outside the box and TRULY gets him! She’s even gotten him to try new foods! He is now! In addition, as a family that has consistently sat on the margins, we are part of the MM family. We owe that to the leadership.

I absolutely love how interactive the teachers are, they are very knowledgeable of each child and creates plans and ideas based off that interaction. Everyone is great! Very responsive and friendly. I also love that they include parents in everything – it helps with communication and milestones when we are at work!
