Brendon S.

Junior at Indiana University, Co-majoring in Marketing and Business Analytics with a minor in Psychology.

“A lot of things stand out to me when I think about my time at Magic Memories, but two in particular. First, the amount of fun we had on the playground, whether it was playing football, basketball, soccer, tag, or the Easter Egg hunt that led to the mysterious egg disappearing under the blue slide, never to be found despite years of searching and digging. Second, the care and respect we received from our teachers, counselors, and everyone there, and how they taught us to show the same to our classmates and fellow campers. Magic Memories truly shaped the man I am today, and I will always credit so many of my skills and qualities to what I learned there.”

Magic Memories was a second home to me because I grew up there starting at 8 weeks old all the way until I was 12, and I have nothing but fond memories of the people, place, and experiences! The yearly field trips in the summer to Water World and Dutch Wonderland were two of my personal favorites, along with all of the days we would put on little skits with the group. Overall, such an amazing place to grow up in and I could not recommend it enough!

Over the past few years at Penn State I have made the Dean’s list all 4 semesters and have joined a business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi. I am still friends with almost all of the people that were in my class at Magic memories. Many of us went on a trip through Europe during our senior year in high school. Some of them go to Penn State as well and we will meet up and grab lunch sometimes. Others I will see from time to time through social media or around my hometown. I remember playing on the playground and racing dump trucks around the playset. There were also plenty of times I can remember having a pajama day and being really excited for that. I will never forget the trips to Dutch Wonderland during the summer camp too.

Senior at Phoenixville Area High school; Plans to Major in Criminal Justice

My favorite memories are during summer camp when there would be the inflatable water slide and we would get to play outside all day, the talent shows, and the Q and U wedding. I am still friends with several Magic Memories alumni. I do try to keep in touch online with the ones I don’t see very often, but there are some whom I am still able to reconnect with through sports and school.

The relationships and memories I was able to make at Magic Memories are too many to count. I’m extremely fortunate to have formed a lot of long-lasting relationships with not only my classmates, but staff as well. Magic Memories gave me everything I could have asked for as a kid, and I credit a lot of where I’m at today to the people and experiences I was able to have there. A lot of my closest friends to this day have come from Magic Memories. I’ve practically grown up with them, attending the same schools and participating in the same extracurriculars.

Junior at Penn State University, Majoring in Materials Science and Engineering with a Minor in Sustainability

I remember playing outside during recess, always riding the tricycles with my friends. I loved all of my teachers and enjoyed our Spanish lessons. A few Magic Memories alumni and I were able to travel to Europe together during senior year of high school! The trip was probably the best two weeks of my life, and we grew so much closer!

There are many memories I can laugh about now – like losing my tooth biting into a pretzel, playing in the snow while waiting for the school bus, and pretending to be pirates on the water park field trip, but when I think about Magic Memories, what first comes to mind is playing with the other kids, just running around and making up games with one another. The memory I cherish most is the morning of the first day of second grade, when I met my friend Addie. We found out we both had Mrs. Trainer as a teacher and were so excited that we sang and danced in circles around the room for the entire morning.
